Bucknell uses 15-3 run in OT, beats Army 83-71

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Zach Thomas had 32 points and 11 rebounds, Kimbal Mackenzie converted a key 4-point play in overtime and Bucknell beat Army 83-71 on Wednesday night.

Bucknell (16-8, 10-1 Patriot League) has won nine straight while Army (12-10, 5-6) has lost four of its last five games.

Stephen Brown threw a cross-court strike to Mackenzie, who then hit a deep 3-pointer while falling down after a foul by Jordan Fox. MacKenzie's ensuing free throw capped an 8-0 spurt as the Bison outscored Army 15-3 in the extra period.

Thomas was 10 of 21 from the field, made 12 of 15 free throws and had five steals. Mackenzie and Nana Foulland each added 15 points, and Brown chipped in 11.

Thomas Funk scored 13 points to lead five in double-figure scoring for Army.

Foulland's layup tied the game at 68 with 44 seconds left in regulation. Brown forced a turnover on Army's next possession, but Foulland missed a pair of free throws and Thomas missed a layup to send it to overtime.

The win was Bucknell coach Nathan Davis' 200th career victory and 59th with the Bison.
