Clemons' 3 at buzzer sends Campbell past High Point 65-64

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Chris Clemons scored 25 and buried a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Campbell to a 65-64 victory over High Point on Friday night.

Clemons added four rebounds, four assists, three steals and a blocked shot for the Fighting Camels (9-8, 3-2 Big South Conference) in a game that saw five ties and 15 lead changes. Clemens had missed 8 of 9 from long range before hitting the game-winner. Cory Gensler had 13 points and six rebounds, while Marcus Burk contributed 11 points and four steals for Campbell, which has won three straight.

Andre Fox had 10 first-half points to help High Point take a 33-24 lead at intermission. Burk hit back-to-back 3s and Clemons followed with two layups to give the Fighting Camels a 38-36 lead six minutes into the second half. High Point battled back to take a 62-53 lead on a Fox jumper with 2:03 left to play, but Clemons scored five in a 9-1 run to cut the deficit to 63-62 with 17 seconds left. Fox hit 1 of 2 free throws with 16 seconds left to push the Panthers' lead to two before Clemons settled matters.

Fox paced the Panthers (7-9, 2-3) with 20 points, while Jahaad Proctor and Ricky Madison scored 11 and 10, respectively.
