Bell guides Presbyterian to 67-62 win over Longwood

CLINTON, S.C. -- Davon Bell scored 18 points, handed out six assists and hit a pair of free throws with three seconds left to help Presbyterian hold off Longwood 67-62 on Thursday night.

Bell scored the last seven points of the game for the Blue Hose (12-12, 3-8 Big South Conference). Bell hit a jumper and 1 of 2 free throws to give Presbyterian a 63-57 lead with 2:28 left to play. The Lancers (6-18, 3-8) pulled within 63-62 on an Isaiah Walton layup and a 3-pointer by Charles Glover, but Bell buried a jumper to stretch the lead to 65-62. Walton missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer for Longwood with six seconds left, setting up Bell's free throws.

Romeo Crouch hit three 3-pointers and scored 16 for the Blue Hose, while Reggie Dillard scored 14 and JC Younger grabbed eight rebounds.

B.K. Ashe paced Longwood with 16 points, Damarion Geter added 13 points and eight rebounds and Glover chipped in with 12 points and nine boards.

Presbyterian hit 7 of 15 from distance (47 percent), while the Lancers made 8 of 21 (38 percent).
