Kendley scores 33, Morgan State rallies by Savannah St 89-88

BALTIMORE -- Tiwian Kendley made a go-ahead floater with 6.4 seconds remaining and Morgan State beat Savannah State 89-88 on Monday night.

Zach Sellers made a basket with 5:31 remaining to give Savannah State an 86-83 lead but the Tigers didn't make another field goal the rest of the way. Alante Fenner and Ralueke Orizu each went 1 of 2 at the line to make it 88-83 at the 4:12 mark.

Kendley ended a four-plus minute field-goal drought for Morgan State with 2:01 left to pull within 88-87. On Savannah State's final possession, Dexter McClanahan took an inbound pass with 3.7 seconds left but his 3-point runner hit the backboard and bounced off.

Kendley scored 33 points on 13-of-22 shooting for Morgan State (7-9, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). He has scored 28-plus in all six of his games this season. Phillip Carr added 18 points with 13 rebounds, David Syfax scored 14 and Stanley Davis had 11 points, 12 boards and seven assists.

Orizu was 9 of 10 from the field for 19 points to lead Savannah State (4-13, 1-1). McClanahan added 15 points, Fenner had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Javaris Jenkins scored 10 with nine boards.
