ELON, N.C. -- Tyler Scanlon scored a dozen points in the last three minutes as he and Max Mahoney finished with 18 points apiece and Boston University rallied past Elon 65-58 on Saturday, wrapping up a six-game road trip and winning in North Carolina for the first time since 1997.

Elon, trailing 28-25 at halftime, surged ahead by eight after the break but Mahoney and Javante McCoy each converted 3-point plays as the Terriers cut the lead to 46-44. Scanlon scored four straight free throws in the waning seconds, added a drive and a 3-point play after his go-ahead 3 to score 12 points in less than three minutes.

The Terriers (5-4) controlled the boards, 47-28, which helped them to a 36-12 disparity on points in the paint and survive 15 turnovers and Elon's 10 3-pointers.

Sheldon Eberhardt led the Phoenix (3-5) with 20 points and five assists, Steven Santa Ana scored 19.
