Jordan, Hawkins lead St Francis (BKN) past Sacred Heart

NEW YORK -- Jalen Jordan poured in a career-high 26 points and Chauncey Hawkins came off the bench to score 23 as St. Francis (N.Y.) turned back Sacred Heart 92-85 on Saturday.

Jordan made 6 of 13 shots, including 3 of 6 from 3-point range, all 11 of his free throws and handed out six assists for the Terriers (11-7, 3-2 Northeast Conference). Hawkins connected on 8 of 17 shots, 3 of 5 from distance, and added three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Glenn Sanabria pitched in with 12 points as the Terriers shot 49 percent from the floor, but 9 of 24 (37.5 percent) from distance.

Sean Hoehn paced the Pioneers (7-11, 3-2) with 25 points on 7-of-14 shooting and a 9-for-9 effort at the foul line. E.J. Anosike finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Reserves Kinnon LaRose and freshman Aaron Clarke scored 13 and 12, respectively.

St. Francis led 41-30 at halftime, but the Pioneers battled back to grab a 50-49 lead on a Hoehn layup and two free throws by Clarke with 14:07 left in the game. Sacred Heart led 81-79 on an Anosike layup with two minutes remaining, but Jordan hit a jumper, Hawkins made two free throws and Sanabria buried a 3 in a 7-0 run and the Terriers picked up their second straight win.
