Barry hits 8 3s in Dartmouth's 114-39 win over Newbury

HANOVER, N.H. -- Brendan Barry made 8 of 10 from 3-point range and finished with 26 points to help Dartmouth open the season with a 114-39 win over Newbury on Tuesday night.

Barry came up one short of the school record for 3s in a game and James Foye added 18 points for the Big Green, who improved their program record in season openers to 77-41.

Dartmouth closed the first half with a 15-3 run and led 61-24 at halftime.

Newbury made just 16 of 70 (23 percent) from the field and were outrebounded 64-33.

Will Emery had six points and 14 rebounds for Dartmouth.

Almando Martinez had 12 points and Omar Williams scored nine for the Division III Nighthawks, who are looking to rebuild with only two players returning from a 4-21 season in coach Rich Fazzi's first year.
