Kamga with 19 points, High Point beats SC Upstate 71-54

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Brandonn Kamga scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds and High Point beat South Carolina Upstate 71-54 on Wednesday night.

Kamga was 8 of 15 from the field including three from distance for the Panthers (10-8, 3-1 Big South Conference). Jahaad Proctor added 17 points and four rebounds and Jordan Whitehead had 12 points and five rebounds. Ricky Madison led the team with 13 rebounds in addition to his six points.

High Point shot 49 percent compared to 34 percent for SC Upstate and had a 47-28 rebounding advantage.

Back-to-back layups by Madison and Caden Sanchez capped a 14-4 start for the Panthers and they never looked back. Kamga sank two 3-pointers and a dunk during the period to help push it to 46-20 at the break. High Point led by double figures throughout the second half and cruised to the win.

Malik Moore scored 17 points with five rebounds to lead the Spartans (5-14, 0-4) who have lost five straight.
