Thomas leads Norfolk St. past Maryland-Eastern Shore 88-60

NORFOLK, Va. -- Nic Thomas scored a career-high 26 points on seven 3-pointers as Norfolk State rolled to an 88-60 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday night.

Mastadi Pitt had 18 points for the Spartans (12-10, 7-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who are on a seven-game win streak to lead in the MEAC standings. Derrik Jamerson Jr. added 16 points and Steven Whitley had eight points with eight assists.

Norfolk State was 18 of 27 from beyond 3-point range (67 percent), a season high.

The Spartans scored first and led all the way, building to a 25-13 advantage midway through and pushing it to 48-27 at the break.

Maryland-Eastern Shore's Ryan Andino opened the second half with eight quick points, but the Hawks (3-19, 1-6) faded soon after and Norfolk State cruised to the win.

Andino finished with 19 points for the Hawks, who have lost six of the last seven. Canaan Bartley added 15 points and six rebounds.
