Georgia State's D'Marcus Simonds returning for junior season

ATLANTA -- Sun Belt Conference player of the year D'Marcus Simonds will return to Georgia State for his junior season.

Simonds announced his decision Wednesday.

As a sophomore, the 6-foot-3 guard set a school record by averaging 21.2 points game, along with 5.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists. He led the Panthers to the Sun Belt tournament championship and their second NCAA appearance in four years.

Simonds said the "opportunity to remain at Georgia State with the group we have coming back was just too much to pass up."
