Carlos Condit has told management he still has fight left in him

MMA, UFC

UFC welterweight Carlos Condit has already informed his management he intends to fight again, despite a frank, open-ended social media post on a potential retirement last month.

Condit (30-12) suffered a second-round submission loss to Alex Oliveira at a UFC Fight Night on April 14. It was his fourth consecutive loss, dating back to a UFC title fight against Robbie Lawler in January 2016.

Shortly after the most recent loss, Condit, 34, penned a reflective post on Instagram, stating, "I don't know what's next guys ... I still love this game, and most days I still feel that fire, I absolutely love what [I] do, but maybe my time has passed."

According to Condit's representatives at First Round Management, Condit recently informed them he intends to fight again and wants to return in November or December. He did not mention a potential opponent.

Fighting out of JacksonWink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Condit is a former interim UFC champion and has fought for the official 170-pound title twice.

The loss to Lawler, at UFC 195, was extremely close. Condit came up just short via split decision in a Fight of the Year candidate.

Condit took an extended break later that year, after losing to Demian Maia in the first round. He ultimately sat out 16 months before returning to the cage at UFC 219, where he suffered a decision loss to Neil Magny.
