Dished up cold: Devin Booker gets his Enes Kanter revenge for 'L' tweet

NEW YORK -- The Phoenix Suns and star shooting guard Devin Booker took to Twitter to troll Knicks center Enes Kanter after their win at Madison Square Garden.

Monday night's tweet was the latest in a back-and-forth between Kanter and Booker that dates to January 2017, when the veteran big man celebrated New York's win over the Suns with his trolling "Hold that L" tweet directed at Booker.

The Suns' official Twitter account also chimed in after the game to get in a jab at Kanter when it tweeted a shoulder shrug emoji in response to his 11-month-old tweet.

Booker was ejected from the 2017 game after shoving Kanter.

On Monday, the fourth-year guard had a season-high 38 points in the Suns' 128-110 win over New York. Booker went 14-of-15 from the free throw line to help Phoenix win three consecutive games for the first time since March 2017.

"We're building," said Booker, who called Madison Square Garden one of his favorites arenas to play in. "We're getting better every game."

The Suns, who entered Monday's game with the NBA's worst record, improved to 2-13 on the road thanks to a 41-point third quarter. No. 1 overall pick DeAndre Ayton had 21 points and 13 rebounds in the win, and veteran Jamal Crawford added a career-high 14 assists.

The Knicks fell to 4-10 at home and 9-23 overall with the loss. They were booed by their home crowd during Phoenix's third-quarter outburst and at the end of the game.

"We just stopped competing defensively," Knicks rookie Kevin Knox said of the Suns' big third quarter. "Offensively, the ball stopped. We weren't moving it like we were in the first half. We just gotta figure out a game how we can put together 48 minutes playing, competing hard at a high level."

The two teams play next on March 6 in Phoenix.
