C's Baynes exits early with Grade 2 ankle sprain

Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics forward Aron Baynes sprained his left ankle in the first half of Wednesday's 118-115 loss at Philadelphia and did not return.

Coach Brad Stevens characterized the injury as a Grade 2 sprain. While he didn't give a timeline for Baynes' return, the nature of the injury could keep the center out into the playoffs.

Baynes was hurt after a hard fall with 5:07 to play in the first half. He immediately checked out and limped back to the locker room.

Baynes had four points and three rebounds in 12 minutes.
