Bills QB Tyrod Taylor in concussion protocol

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor is in the concussion protocol after leaving in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 10-3 playoff loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Taylor was in the Bills' locker room after the game but was not permitted to speak to reporters while under the protocol.

Taylor had scrambled for a 2-yard gain with less than two minutes remaining in the game when his helmet slammed against the ground as he was being tackled by Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler. He remained on the ground for several minutes with little movement before being walked to the locker room by medical staff.

"It's tough when your guy goes down like that," guard Richie Incognito said after the game. "It leaves a really bad taste in your mouth."

Taylor's injury came on third down as the Bills were trying to drive for the game-tying touchdown. Rookie Nathan Peterman entered for Taylor on fourth down and gained two first downs before throwing an interception to effectively end the game.

Bills safety Micah Hyde is also in the concussion protocol. He was walked to the locker room in the third quarter after tackling Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis at the end of a 16-yard catch.
