Patriots receiver Julian Edelman, a three-time Super Bowl champ and the MVP of Super Bowl LIII, has signed a two-year extension that is worth up to $19 million in "new" money, a source told ESPN.

Veteran OT Jared Veldheer, who had signed a one-year deal with the Patriots on May 13, has informed the team that he plans to retire, per a source. That could lead the team to place the 31-year-old Veldheer on the reserve/retired list as early as Tuesday. The Patriots had signed Veldheer to provide experienced depth behind projected starter Isaiah Wynn at left tackle, as Wynn is recovering from a torn Achilles in August.

The New England Patriots and star receiver Julian Edelman have agreed to a two-year contract extension, according to ESPN and multiple reports. The deal is worth up to $19 million in new money and includes an $8 million signing bonus for Edelman, a source tells ESPN's Mike Reiss.

DT Danny Shelton's deal with the Patriots is for one-year with a signing bonus of $75,000, a base salary of $805,000 and bonuses/incentives worth up to $150,000, according to ESPN's Field Yates. Shelton's cap charge is $1,001,875. The Patriots had turned down Shelton's fifth-year option, which would have paid him $7.1 million, so this pact reflects that Shelton didn't generate much financial momentum on the open market.

The structure and details of TE Benjamin Watson's 1-year, $3 million contract with the Patriots puts him at the No. 1 financial spot on the tight-end depth chart. The deal includes a $600,000 signing bonus, a $1.45 million base salary, $300,000 in roster bonuses, and $650,000 in incentives. This is significantly richer than the minimum deal signed by Austin Seferian-Jenkins.The rest of the depth chart is filled out by Stephen Anderson, Ryan Izzo, Matt LaCosse and Andrew Beck.

Florida prosecutors appeal Kraft video decision

Attorneys for Patriots owner Robert Kraft expected Florida prosecutors to appeal a judge's decision to suppress video evidence, saying the state could have opened itself up to a civil lawsuit if it hadn't.

The Patriots and core special teams player Brandon King have agreed to a 2-year extension, a source confirms. The extension gets tacked on to this year, so King is now signed through 2021. The extension adds $3.5 million to the pact, while also giving King a chance to earn more in 2019 than just his $925,000 base salary.

Jamie Collins' deal with the Patriots is for one year, including a $150,000 signing bonus, $900,000 base salary and bonuses that bring his cap charge to $3 million for 2019, sources tell ESPN's Field Yates. This is a modest deal that reflects how Collins is fighting for a roster spot.

Patriots left guard Joe Thuney answered questions from reporters Thursday, and said the first five weeks of the voluntary offseason program have been "going really well." Thuney relayed that he takes pride in being available for the team, and that he focuses on flexibility in the offseason. That approach helped him play every snap in 2018.

Contract note: WR Dontrelle Inman's 1-year deal includes a $200k signing bonus, $100k of his base salary guaranteed, $300k in roster bonuses, and a $100k reporting bonus, in addition to incentives up to $1m. This reflects how he had other suitors, and chose the Patriots over them in part because of the opportunity presented to him. This isn't a minimum-level deal.

With the Patriots reaching agreement with first-round pick N'Keal Harry on a 4-year, $10,098,348 deal that includes a $5.364 million signing bonus, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it means that just two New England picks remain unsigned: OLB Chase Winovich (3rd) and RB Damien Harris (3rd).

Fullback James Develin answered questions from reporters Tuesday and he noted how the arrival of rookies in recent days has altered the dynamic of the offseason program. "These young guys hit the field running and they're getting used to the whole competitive nature we have here," he said. "Hopefully we can carry that into OTAs next week."

Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski answered questions from reporters Tuesday and one theme was how he would like to finish his career where it started. He's been a Patriot since 2006 and re-signed this offseason for two more years. The 35-year-old Gostkowski deflected a question on if he would like to kick into his 40s, saying he prefers to keep a short-term focus.
