          W2W4 on Tuesday: Virtue and Moir look for second gold, U.S. men's hockey vies for quarters

          A week ago, veteran ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir led Canada to an Olympic gold medal in the team event. On Tuesday, they'll try to achieve the same feat in their individual ice dance event. After a solid short program, earning them a world-record 83.67 points, they are currently in the lead, closely followed by France's Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron. Will Virtue and Moir be able to lock up their second Olympic gold?

          That isn't the only thing on tap Tuesday at the Olympics. Here's everything you need to know:

          Figure skating

          Mixed ice dance, free dance (Monday, 8 p.m. ET/Tuesday 10 a.m. local time): Virtue and Moir could not have asked for a better start to their individual ice dance event. Their rivalry with Papadakis and Cizeron has been the highlight of the 2017-18 season, and it will continue in Tuesday's free dance portion of the event.

          Americans Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani (popularly known as the Shib sibs) are fourth overall after the short program, 0.02 points behind fellow American ice dancers Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue.

          Freestyle skiing

          Women's ski halfpipe final (Monday, 9:18 p.m. ET/Tuesday, 11:18 a.m. local time): At the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Team USA's Maddie Bowman won her first Olympic gold medal in the event. Now, even though she looks to be in great form to defend her title (she has won X Games Aspen five times in the past six years), more than five skiers have a good chance to take home a medal. Teammate Brita Sigourney, the silver medalist at X Games, will definitely fight for a place on the podium.

          Canada's Cassie Sharpe is also a gold-medal contender, as is France's Marie Martinod, the Sochi silver medalist who is the only skier apart from Bowman to have won gold in the same discipline at X Games Aspen.

          Ice hockey

          Men's playoff qualification, USA versus Slovakia (Monday, 10:10 p.m. ET/Tuesday 12:10 p.m. local time): The U.S. men's team has had a rough tournament so far, losing two of its three games in Group B prelim play (to Slovenia and the Olympic Athletes from Russia). But their victory against Slovakia gives the Americans another chance to reach the quarterfinals. On Tuesday, they again face Slovakia, which lost 3-2 to Slovenia on Saturday.

          Biathlon

          Mixed relay (Tuesday, 6:15 a.m. ET/8:15 p.m. local time): To say that Germany's Laura Dahlmeier has had the dream Olympic run this year would be an understatement. She has taken home gold in 7.5km sprint and 10km pursuit plus bronze in the 15km individual. Now, she is back for more, competing in the relay event with teammates and fellow Olympic medalists Arnd Peiffer (won 10km sprint gold), Simon Schempp (silver in 15km mass start) and Vanessa Hinz. The team won the 2017 world championship and looks unstoppable.

          Martin Fourcade of France will also look to add to his Pyeongchang medal haul after winning gold in the 12.5km pursuit and 15km mass start.

          Short-track speedskating

          Women's 3,000-meter relay final (Tuesday, 6:33 a.m. ET/8:33 p.m. local time): South Korea has dominated this event since 1998, winning gold in every Olympics except the 2010 Vancouver Games. Despite an early fall, South Korea secured a spot in the final, as only China finished faster in qualifiers. South Korea will look to add a fifth gold medal to its list, while China and Canada will look to join the host country on the podium.
