Toulouse sign All Blacks prop Charlie Faumuina

Rugby, Top 14 Orange

Toulouse have announced the signing of 29 year-old All Blacks prop Charlie Faumuina, who will join up with the four-time European Cup winners after the Blues' 2017 Super Rugby season.

He made his All Blacks debut in 2012 and has played 46 Tests since and scored tries against Italy and France in New Zealand's tour of the northern hemisphere in November, coming off the bench against Ireland (twice), and France while starting in Italy.

A second-half replacement as New Zealand were crowned World Champions in 2015, the Blues front row has largely played back up to Owen Franks in Steve Hansen's side.

"Toulouse is a club with an extremely rich history and record," Faumina told the club website. "I have only heard compliments from players who have had the chance to play for the club and I know former All Blacks and other players from the Southern Hemisphere who have worn the jersey.

"Playing in red and black alongside players I have played against in the past is an interesting prospect. I know the club is ambitious and aspires to win titles. The French championship is undoubtedly the best in Europe, and I look forward to playing in it."
