French Top 14 club Lyon reportedly sounded out England rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson over a potential short-term move.
Lyon -- who are in a relegation battle to stay in the top flight of French club rugby -- wanted to bring Wilkinson in as a 'medical joker' on a lucrative short term contract, but according to newspaper Midi Olympique the star playmaker 'politely refused'.
Injuries to Frédéric Michalak and Jacques-Louis Potgieter has left Lyon searching for an out-half, with former Wallaby Mike Harris their only available option.
Wilkinson is no stranger to France, having guided Toulon to back to back European Cup titles.
