Sale Sharks have confirmed Marc Jones and Will Cliff will return to the club on two-year deals after spells at Aviva Premiership rivals Bristol.

Welsh hooker Jones, 29, joined Bristol in January 2015 while 28-year-old scrum-half Cliff was loaned to Glasgow and Yorkshire before heading for Ashton Gate.

Sale rugby director Steve Diamond said: "It's great news for the club and the supporters that both Marc and Will have decided to return to the club.

"They both know what we are about, the culture of the club and where we want to be."

Jones, who played 150 games for Sale between 2005 and 2015, said: "I have some great memories of playing at Sale Sharks and living in the north west and am looking forward to playing for the club again.

"I have enjoyed my time here at Bristol and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support."

Cliff, who signed for the club as an 18-year-old will also be looking to build on a century of appearances, added: "I grew up watching Sale Sharks and am looking forward to returning to the club who I played for from leaving school.

"Living and playing in Bristol has been enjoyable and the club and the supporters have been great to me and my family."
