Rugby

Former Springboks coach Jake White has signed a deal with Japanese club Toyota Verblitz for next season.

White, who will be replaced as Montpellier coach by Vern Cotter in the summer, will lead a coaching team that includes Australians John Muggleton and Nick Scrivener.

The 2007 Rugby World Cup winner and IRB Hall of Fame inductee has also had spells with the Brumbies and Sharks in Super Rugby and was part of the Tonga backroom team before heading to France.

Former Wallabies back row Wycliff Palu is among the players who have lined up for the Japanese outfit in the past while Sevens star Jamie Henry has joined the team.
