Harlequins sign Ben Glynn as cover for injured Sam Twomey

Harlequins have signed former Bristol lock Ben Glynn as injury dispensation cover for Sam Twomey.

Twomey spent much of last season in the treatment room and has had to undergo another operation on his foot, meaning he will not be fit in time for the new campaign.

Bristol academy graduate Glynn made 11 Aviva Premiership appearances last term as the club slipped back into the Championship.

"I am very excited about joining Harlequins for the coming season, it is a great opportunity for me," Glynn told the Harlequins website.

"I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the pre-season campaign with my new team mates and hitting the ground running for when the season begins in September."

Harlequins director of rugby, John Kingston, said: "It is really disappointing to see that Sam Twomey has had to undergo a further operation on a foot injury he sustained last season.

"Ben will provide excellent cover for the coming season; he is an experienced operator who has played many times in the Premiership.

"He will complement the locks we have within our senior roster."
