Wales fly-half Rhys Priestland will miss most of the 2018 Six Nations with a hamstring injury, the Welsh Rugby Union has confirmed.
Priestland played the entirety of Bath's Champions Cup clash against Scarlets last weekend, but picked up what Warren Gatland described as a "knock" during the game.
The Bath No. 10 was included in Gatland's squad for the Six Nations, which was announced earlier this week, but the extent of Priestland's injury is worse than first thought, and he will now be sidelined for several weeks.
The team are due to meet up on Monday ahead of Wales' Six Nations opener with Scotland, but Priestland will now remain with Bath for rehab.
Gatland also included George North and Priestland's Bath teammate Taulupe Faletau in his 39-man squad -- both of whom are also injured.
