Italy head coach Conor O'Shea has handed England-born Jake Polledri his Six Nations debut in the only change as the Azzurri go in search of their first point of the 2018 championship against Scotland at the Stadio Olimpico.

Back row Polledri was rewarded with a call up to the Italy squad in preparation to the championship but hadn't featured in O'Shea's plans until now.

Despite sitting bottom of the Six Nations table, Italy have scored more tries than both France and Scotland but have conceded an incredible 23 in four games.

The backline is where the threat will come from with fullback Matteo Minozzi having scored three tries so far in the championship and winger Mattia Bellini scoring two.

Italy: Minozzi, Benvenuti, Bisegni, Castello, Bellini, Allan, Violi; Lovotti, Ghiradldini, Ferrari, Zanni, Budd, Negri, Polledri, Parisse.

Replacements: Fabiani, Quaglio, Pasquali, Steyn, Licata, Palazzani, Canna, Hayward.
