Willie le Roux: 8/10
The Wasps fullback has made a sensational return to the Springboks and international rugby. He was one of the catalysts in the Boks' comeback win at Ellis Park and put in another solid performance in Bloemfontein. Came on a substitute in Cape Town.
Warrick Gelant: 7
Gelant was the one Springbok who actually enhanced his reputation at Newlands. After two appearances off the bench, he had a top game in the wet at Newlands. Safe under the high ball, and created a try with a grubber kick. Likely to be selected on the wing during the Rugby Championship.
S'bu Nkosi: 7
After a nervous start at Ellis Park, the Sharks flyer showed what a wonderful attacking weapon he can be for the Boks. He has got speed to burn and is a wonderful stepper. Can still work on his positioning on defence, but a top first series for the wing.
Lukhanyo Am: 6
I would have loved to see him get a lot more space and time to show off his attacking prowess. Showed some glimpses of his talent on attack, but also made a few mistakes on defence. However, the more he plays at this level, the better he will get.
Jesse Kriel: 6
Kriel is a wonderfully explosive player and a try-scorer of note, but his lack of core skills as a centre is still a big worry. The obvious one was when he couldn't do a simple draw and pass against England at Newlands. Other than that, not a bad outing during his only start in Cape Town.
Damian de Allende: 6
De Allende made a few powerful runs in the first Test at Ellis Park and got the Boks on the front foot throughout this series. But he needs to add some panache to the power for the sake of his outside backs.
André Esterhuizen: 4
It was difficult for him to make an impact in the wet conditions at Newlands. He couldn't get his power game going, while his skills as an inside centre aren't yet up to international standard after throwing the odd loose pass.
Aphiwe Dyantyi: 7
This kid has taken to international rugby like a duck to water. Worked his socks off on attack and defence, and regularly punched above his weight throughout the series. Needs to get a bit more space to really show his true worth.
Handré Pollard: 6
The Bok flyhalf was impressive with his all-round play during the series, but there are still plenty of work-ons. While he was physical with ball in hand and kicked well, he still missed many one-on-one tackles, while his distribution wasn't always crisp.
Elton Jantjies: 4
Jantjies properly messed up his big chance at Newlands with a few glaring unforced errors in the wet. It's a real pity, because Jantjies is a fantastic talent. But he is just not stepping up at international level. A flyhalf must be able to play in all conditions.
Faf de Klerk: 7
De Klerk was another player who struggled in the wet at Newlands, but his performances in Johannesburg and Bloemfontein helped the Boks to secure a series win over the English. His box-kicking has come a long way, but it's not good enough for this level.
Ivan van Zyl/Embrose Papier 5
They should have got more time on the field during the series to see whether they can make it as this level. Scrumhalf is a position where the Boks are still struggling to find quality players ahead of the World Cup.
Duane Vermeulen: 7
Vermeulen was absolutely superb in the first two Test matches. He was intelligently used in back play to field kicks and showed his power with ball in hand at the breakdown. He wasn't great in Cape Town, but the job was already done.
Pieter-Steph du Toit: 7
The versatile Stormers player is such an important cog in the Springboks' set-up. It's a great advantage to have a world-class lock and loose forward in your team as the same person. With Gelant, probably the Boks' best player at Newlands.
Jean-Luc du Preez: 5
The Sharks man didn't have the greatest of impacts on this series. He is normally one of the Boks' main momentum men, who gets over the the advantage line and tackles the opposition back, but he wasn't quite his blockbuster self.
Sikhumbuzo Notshe 5
Notshe is a flair player, but unfortunately didn't have a lot of opportunities to show his ability with ball in hand. However, the experience gained with the Boks is going to make him a better player.
Siya Kolisi: 6
Kolisi is still getting back to his best after an injury at the start of the season. His fitness is not there yet, and the jury is still out if No 6 is his best position. But he led the Boks well and also made solid contributions throughout the series.
Franco Mostert: 6
Mostert's work rate makes him a valuable player for the Boks, but will it be enough to keep his starting berth in the Rugby Championship? With Eben Etzebeth coming back after injury, he could be the one to miss out against the All Blacks, Wallabies and Argentina.
RG Snyman: 7
Snyman definitely put his hand up this series. He was fantastic on debut in Johannesburg, as he made a couple of great runs and stole a crucial lineout ball at the end to help the Boks win the game. It's going to be hard to leave him out when Etzebeth comes back.
Wilco Louw: 5
The tighthead prop was left out of the last two matches to give Frans Malherbe some much-needed game time, but also to give him a bit of a break following non-stop rugby for the Stormers. Hopefully he will be fresh when the Rugby Championship comes around.
Frans Malherbe: 5
His looked rusty as old nails in Bloemfontein, but put in a solid performance in front of his home fans at Newlands. While Louw needs some rest, Malherbe needs a lot more game time to show his worth, because the Boks suddenly have a plethora of tightheads waiting in the wings.
Thomas du Toit: 6
The Sharks tighthead made a massive impact every time he got onto the field for the Springboks. His powerful scrumming led to a penalty try in Bloemfontein, while he carried well and tackled anything that moved over the three Tests.
Bongi Mbonambi: 8
For a guy who only played about 20 minutes of Super Rugby ahead of the Test series, Mbonambi was simply superb. He didn't miss a single jumper at Ellis Park, and was busy in both Test matches he started in Johannesburg and Bloemfontein.
Akker van der Merwe: 5
The Sharks hooker probably didn't make the sort of impact off the bench that Erasmus was hoping for, as he conceded a few silly penalties while on the field. However, the explosive No 2 will certainly get better with more outings at international level.
Chiliboy Ralepelle and Schalk Brits: 5
The two veteran hookers basically had one half of rugby each at Newlands to put their hand up for a World Cup berth. There are many young and firing hookers out there at the moment, and it's difficult to see them making it to Japan in 2019.
Tendai Mtawarira: 6
The 'Beast' celebrated his 100th cap for the Boks in Bloemfontein with a solid display. He remains a must for the Boks in the front row, because of his experience. However, the youngsters are coming for his jersey.
Steven Kitshoff: 8
Kitshoff is the main guy gunning for the Mtawarira's place. He has been the ultimate impact player for the Boks and must be close to a start, especially if Erasmus decides to manage the 'Beast' during the Rugby Championship.
