Duane Vermeulen signs for Bulls

Rugby, Super Rugby

Duane Vermeulen will play Super Rugby for the Bulls in 2019.

The Springboks No. 8, who has won 42 caps for South Africa, and who has been added to the tour squad to face England, France, Scotland and Wales, will arrive in Pretoria in February 2019.

He will spend the duration of the season with the Bulls.

Vermeulen has previously played for the Pumas, Cheetahs and Stormers in South Africa, and for Toulon in France. He is currently signed with Japan Top League club Kubota Spears.

Vermeeulen said in a statement issued by the Blue Bulls Company: "2019 is going to be a massive year for us, and I'm keen on starting it with an impact at Loftus. The Bulls have always been a team that I have respected, and I'm looking forward to joining the family. "

Blue Bulls Company high performance manager Xander Janse van Rensburg described Vermeulen as "an amazing rugby player, [who] is well respected around the world".

"We firmly believe that his abrasive style of play and experience will add immense value to our Vodacom Super Rugby campaign next year. At the age of 32, he is a seasoned veteran, that just gets better with every season."
