England have made two changes for Saturday's pivotal Six Nations clash against Wales in Cardiff with Jack Nowell and Ben Moon coming into the starting XV.

Nowell replaces the injured Chris Ashton on the wing while Moon steps in for the sidelined Mako Vunipola at loose-head prop.

Wales have also made two changes and have decided to stick with Gareth Anscombe at fly-half ahead of Dan Biggar.

Exeter Chiefs back Nowell returns to the England side after he was dropped to the bench for the 44-8 win over France two weeks ago, while club team-mate Moon will make his first Six Nations start.

Eddie Jones has made further changes to the bench with Ellis Genge, Harry Williams, Brad Shields and Joe Cokanasiga included.

Cokanasiga scored on his return from injury for Bath last weekend, while Shields is selected ahead of Nathan Hughes as forward cover.

For Wales, Cory Hill replaces Adam Beard (who drops to the bench) in the second row and scrum-half Gareth Davies comes in for the injured Tomos Williams.

Head coach Warren Gatland has preferred Anscombe at No. 10 to the more experienced Biggar, who played in the 26-15 victory over Italy in Round 2.

Leigh Halfpenny is not in the 23-man squad as he continues to recover from concussion and props Samson Lee and Leon Brown have also missed out with injury.

England head for Cardiff after a near perfect start to their Six Nations campaign. On the opening weekend they shocked Ireland to secure a 32-20 bonus-point win in Dublin and a week later Jones's side thrashed France at Twickenham to sit top of the table.

"England and Wales is always a big game," said Jones.

"Intense rivals and there is the historical context to it, but for us it is our most important game because it is our next game and that is how we are treating it.

"As you have read in the media, it's all about Wales, we are playing potentially the greatest team ever. Their players are full of emotion and it's the biggest game they are going to play in their lives. We have had a good week just focusing on ourselves and focusing on getting our preparation right."

But Wales are also protecting an unbeaten record. Their victory in Rome was their second on the continent in a week after the 24-19 win over France in Paris on the opening weekend.

"We are really happy with the experience we have got in the side," said Gatland.

"We have been on the road for the first two weeks, and we are looking forward to being back at home and to build on those first two wins and to build on our performance.

"We've had a great two-week lead up to this game, we've looked really sharp and the squad are incredibly motivated to kick on.

"We know how important this game is for the rest of the championship. It's a massive challenge playing against an England team that is playing really well and with a lot of confidence, and we've got to make it difficult for them on Saturday."
