London Irish continued their transfer spree on Thursday as they announced the signing of Australian international and Melbourne Rebels captain Adam Coleman.

Lock Coleman, who has won 31 Wallabies caps since making his debut in 2016, will join the newly-promoted Premiership side following the Rugby World Cup.

He joins Australia teammate Sekope Kepu in signing for the club ahead of the 2019-20 season and comes a day after Irish announced the signing of All Black and World Cup winner Waisake Naholo.

Irish have also added Ireland international Paddy Jackson to their squad this week as they prepare for life back in the top flight of English rugby.

"It's been clear talking to [director of rugby] Declan [Kidney] and [head coach] Les [Kiss] that they've got big ambitions for the club, and as well as a good squad already in place, they are making some exciting signings as well," Coleman said.

"Before I move to London I'll be fully committed to having a good Super Rugby campaign in Melbourne and hopefully helping Australia achieve success in the World Cup."

Coleman, 27, made his Super Rugby debut for New South Wales Waratahs in 2011 before signing for Perth's Western Force. He joined the Rebels in 2017 and was named captain in 2018.
