          Ireland club Bohemians' 2019 away kit steeped in roots, rock, reggae

          League of Ireland club Bohemians have released an interesting new away kit for 2019 that is steeped long in roots, rock and reggae.

          The Dublin-based side's new Rasta-tastic shirt features a large graphic of Bob Marley on the front, complete with red, gold and green trim.

          The fairly tenuous explanation from Bohs is that Marley played one concert at their Dalymount ground during the 1980s -- thus, the jersey is designed to pay homage to the stadium's "special place in the hearts of both football and music fans" alike.

          As well as the Wailers, several other musical acts have seen their likenesses and/or logos appear on football shirts in the past.

          Scottish pop quartet Wet Wet Wet funnelled a portion of their royalties into hometown club Clydebank in the early 1990s, plastering their band name across the front of their shirts into the bargain.

          Being lifelong fans of their local team, German punk band Die Toten Hosen sponsored Fortuna Dusseldorf's shirts from 2001 to 2003.

          Meanwhile, legendarily deafening metal band Motorhead once sponsored the shirts of the Greenbank Under-10 youth team.

          Apparently, the deal came about as Greenbank's manager at the time was an old acquaintance of Lemmy Kilmister, Motorhead's grizzled, leather-clad frontman.

          Now there's something you probably weren't expecting to see today!
