Internacional beat Tigres in Copa Libertadores semifinal first leg

Tigres lost 2-1 to Brazilian club Internacional in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores semifinal, but the Liga MX club earned a crucial away goal as they head back to Monterrey for the return leg.

The hosts took the early advantage scoring twice in the first 10 minutes with Andres D´Alessandro netting in the fifth minute and Valdivia scoring again five minutes later.

Tigres refused to go away though, and Hugo Ayala scored in the 23rd minute to cut the lead in half as the teams went to the dressing room at halftime with the score 2-1.

Neither team scored in the second half, but Tigres did have a player sent off with goalscorer Ayala receiving his second yellow card of the match for a hard foul.

The teams meet again for the second leg on July 22.
