Dortmund draw at Eintracht after wasting two-goal lead

Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund's mini-slump continued on Saturday as they wasted a two-goal lead and settled for a 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The slip allowed Bayern Munich to join Dortmund at the top of the table on 20 points after they beat Hamburg 1-0 later in the day.

It was Dortmund's fourth game without a win from five matches across all competitions after they were beaten 3-2 by RB Leipzig last weekend and then held away to Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League.

Nuri Sahin tapped in a Marc Bartra ball for the opening goal from six yards in the 19th minute and the visitors looked set for all three points in the 57th minute when Maximilian Philipp doubled the lead with a low shot across goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky from just inside the area.

However, Sebastian Haller pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 64th minute after Dortmund keeper Roman Burki had fouled Ante Rebic.

Marius Wolf equalised four minutes later with a shot inside the far corner for his first Bundesliga goal.

Dortmund missed several good chances, notably through Philipp, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Christian Pulisic, while Burki had to be alert to deny Frankfurt as the game swung from end-to-end.

Jadon Sancho came on for his Bundesliga debut but the 17-year-old England youth international was denied in the final minute by Frankfurt goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky, before Sahin's effort from the rebound was cleared off the line.

Coach Peter Bosz reshuffled his defense with Neven Subotic coming in for the suspended Sokratis. It was the Serbian's first game for Dortmund since March 2016.

But Bosz will also face questions after making changes with the side 2-0 up.

Dortmund have conceded in six games across all competitions after starting the league clean in its first five games.
