Werder Bremen agree deal to sign goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka

Werder Bremen have agreed a deal to sign Slavia Prague goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka, the Bundesliga side have announced.

Pavlenka, 25, is expected to undergo a medical in Bremen and sign a contract later in the week.

The Czech Republic international Werder's official website: "The Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in the world and Werder are a massive club.

"I'm looking forward to being a part of the team."

Werder sporting director Frank Baumann said: "We're very pleased that we convinced Jiri to join Werder.

"We've followed his development intently over the last few years. He's done very well, made the step up to international football with the Czech Republic and performed consistently well for Slavia Prague last season."

Pavlenka helped Slavia win the Czech First League title during his first campaign as No. 1.
