Manchester United are not going to sign free agent Guiseppe Rossi, according to caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite impressing Sir Alex Ferguson in training.
The U.S.-born Italy international is searching for a new club after leaving Genoa and is training with United after being invited to Carrington by former United teammate Solskjaer.
Rossi, 31, was watched by Ferguson on Saturday during United's final preparation to face Spurs and Solskjaer believes the former Italy international will have plenty of offers.
"We're not gonna sign Giuseppe, I think, but he's trained well with us," Solskjaer said. "He has looked sharp. He's looking for a club so he's probably going to stay for another week with us unless someone takes him.
"He scored a fantastic goal in training and the gaffer turns around and says 'What about that, son!'
"It's helping him to get fit for his next move so if there are any takers it should be quick."
Solskjaer made it six wins out of six as United boss after the 1-0 win over Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal in the first half before a stunning display from goalkeeper David De Gea in the second half ensured United beat a top-six rival for the first time with season.
"David was absolutely magnificent," Ander Herrera told reporters. "It seemed that we had a wall in our goal and it was impossible to beat it.
"We have the No.1 goalkeeper and when you have the No. 1 you can be more relaxed.
"It is true that probably the draw would have been the most fair result because they have created many chances and we have to be fair.
"But we have the best goalkeeper in the world and when you have the No. 1 this kind of thing can happen."
