Sabina Sharipova advanced to the round-of-16 stage of the WTA ZhengZhou Open to set up a clash with Yafan Wang.
Sharipova, who is currently the world No. 217, was made to work in her match against Peangtarn Plipuech but eventually emerged victorious 4-6 6-2 7-6 (2) to qualify.
Elsewhere, Yingying Duan beat India's Ankita Raina 6-3 5-7 6-3 to set up a match against Jia-Jing Lu in the next round.
Also on day four, Eri Hozumi beat Zhaoxuan Yang 6-3 6-3 while Miharu Imanishi emerged victorious over Vitalia Diatchenko with a 6-4 7-5 result.
On court 10, Xiadi You beat Yue Yuan 6-3 5-7 6-2 and over on court nine Fangzhou Lio cruised to a 6-0 6-0 win over Fang Ying Xun.
