2018 WNBA draft to be held April 12 at Nike New York headquarters

The 2018 WNBA draft will be held April 12 at Nike New York headquarters, the league announced Monday.

The first round will begin at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The second and third rounds will be aired on ESPNU.

The Las Vegas Aces, the franchise that moved after last season from San Antonio, will have the No. 1 selection. Indiana chooses second, and Chicago third and fourth, to round out the lottery picks. South Carolina senior A'ja Wilson, named espnW's national player of the year Sunday, is expected to be the top pick.

The Nike facility, which opened last June on Sixth Avenue in Manhattan, features an indoor basketball court that will be the hub of the draft's broadcast. The draft is not open to the public.

"This is all part of our newly expanded partnership with Nike, a brand that believes in equality and the empowerment of women," WNBA president Lisa Borders said in a statement.

The rest of the draft's first round is: Seattle, Dallas, Washington, Indiana (from Phoenix), Connecticut, New York, Los Angeles and Phoenix (from Minnesota).

The WNBA season begins May 18, with defending champion Minnesota starting on May 20 against Los Angeles at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
