MONROE, La. -- Louisiana-Monroe athletic director Brian Wickstrom says Jeff Dow is the Warhawks' new women's basketball coach.
Dow has been out of coaching for one season after being dismissed by Division II Indiana, Pa., amid reports that players were unhappy with his coaching methods.
Dow, who has a bachelor's degree in psychology, has said he doesn't know why he was fired and has denied mistreating players. Wickstrom says ULM investigated the matter, speaking with IUP officials and former players, and found no evidence to support the allegations.
Dow spent five years at IUP, compiling a 108-40 record from 2008-2013.
Wickstrom says Dow's "track record of high academic success and winning percentage as a coach" made him a standout candidate.
Dow succeeds longtime women's coach Mona Martin, who announced her retirement last month.
