Louisiana Tech hires Brooke Stoehr to replace Tyler Summitt

RUSTON, La. -- Louisiana Tech has hired Brooke Stoehr to be its next women's basketball coach.

The school announced Stoehr's hiring on Monday. Stoehr will be introduced Tuesday during a news conference on campus.

Stoehr replaces Tyler Summitt, who resigned April 7 after acknowledging he had an inappropriate relationship.

The 25-year-old Summitt is the son of Hall of Fame coach Pat Summitt. He had a 30-31 record in two seasons at Louisiana Tech before his surprising resignation.

Stoehr has been the co-head coach at Northwestern State (Louisiana) with her husband, Scott, for the past four seasons. She played for Louisiana Tech from 1998 to 2002 and was previously an assistant coach at the school.
