GWS co-captain Phil Davis insists speculation over key Giants coming off contract isn't a distraction for players at the youngest AFL club.
Most years since they entered the competition in 2012, GWS have had to deal with external chatter as they battle to keep the multitude of talented players they drafted while remaining within the salary cap.
Inevitably the squeeze has led to some leaving with midfielders Adam Treloar and Dylan Shiel among the top end talent departing.
They have managed to hold onto plenty of big guns with Josh Kelly recently signing a contract extension.
Rumours continue to circulate over others like star midfielder Stephen Coniglio, who is off contact after this season.
Key forwards Jon Patton and Jeremy Cameron, both of whose contracts end next year, have already been linked to Hawthorn and Geelong respectively.
Midfielder Coniglio is a reported target for several clubs, but foundation player Davis was adamant yet another bout of speculation wasn't a distraction.
"I don't think so, we've got to a point now where it's been a pretty consistent theme up here since day one with the amount of good players we've had," key defender Davis said.
"I think it's a great compliment to Stephen that he's so highly sought after, whether it be Hawthorn or Carlton, whichever clubs it is.
"There's a lot of clubs that seem to be interested and from our point of view, we're confident in the place, the environment that we have here, that he'll want to stay.
"If Geelong didn't want Jeremy Cameron then I think there would be something wrong with Geelong's list management.
"From my point of view I'm pretty comfortable in the fact it's going to be a pretty consistent story whenever you're a good side.
"You look at the salary cap squeeze here or Collingwood, or wherever, clubs are always eyeing ways to try to make sure you get it done.
"We've had players that have consistently taken less money and moved their money so they can stay and be a part of it.
"We're pretty confident in the culture that we've got that while the speculation will remain, we're pretty confident the list will be able to stay the same."
Kelly, Cameron and Matt de Boer could all return from injury for Friday's game against Hawthorn in Canberra.
