Thursday, June 25
Sydney vs. Western Bulldogs, SCG, 7:40pm (AEDT)
Team news: For the Swans, Ben Ronke, Justin McInerney and Sam Naismith come in for Colin O'Riordan, Sam Gray (both omitted) and Tom McCartin (concussion), while the Dogs have also made three changes, with Louis Butler, Patrick Lipinski and Rhylee West in for injured duo Josh Dunkley and Lin Jong. Matthew Suckling has been dropped.

Prediction: We saw a much improved performance from the Dogs last week but don't pencil this win in just yet. The Swans have been one of the quiet achievers in 2020 and last week knocked off the impressive Roos. At the SCG, this could be a very tight contest. Dogs by 10 points.
Score: Swans 5. 9. (39) def. by Bulldogs 10. 7. (67)
Verdict: Four goals from Tom Papley wasn't enough for the Swans as they slipped to another a second defeat at the SCG in three weeks. The Bulldogs powered through the opening quarter to open up a 19-point lead at the first change, which the hosts could only respond to with one major in the second term. A dour third quarter left the Bulldogs in control heading into the final stanza and while the Swans threatened a late rally three further goals from the visitors secured their second straight win.
Friday, June 26
GWS vs. Collingwood, Giants Stadium, 7.50pm (AEST)
Team news: It's good news for the Giants who welcome back Toby Greene alongside Josh Kelly, Shane Mumford and Tom Green, while American Mason Cox is the only change the Pies with Darcy Cameron dropping out.
Prediction: At the beginning of the year we'd have said this is blockbuster material, but some ordinary Giants form has the Pies going in as overwhelming favourites, even in western Sydney. Having said that, the last time these teams met at Giants Stadium, Collingwood was trounced by 47 points. Pies by two straight kicks.
Score: Giants 10. 6. (66) def. Magpies 9. 10. (64)
Verdict: Star forward Toby Greene returned to the Giants side and made an instant impact, kicking three goals as GWS overcame the red-hot Magpies on Friday night. Collingwood had all the running late in the game but missed a series of routine set-shots to open the door for the home side. The win sees GWS even the season at 2-2 and stay firmly in the hunt for a finals berth.
Saturday, June 27
Port Adelaide vs. West Coast, Metricon Stadium, 1.45pm (AEST)
Team news: Kane Farrell comes in for injured Xavier Duursma in the only change for the Power, while Jamaine Jones, Jeremy McGovern, Tom Cole and Tom Hickey all come into the Eagles line-up.
Prediction: The Power have been very impressive in the early rounds but this week will be their first proper test. A win over the Eagles to stay perfect will see them start to be thrown into premiership calculations, not bad for a team who has only played one home game. Port will get the job done, by 18 points.
Score: Power 13. 11 (89) def. Eagles 6. 5. (41)
Verdict: Charlie Dixon booted Port Adelaide to a 48-point demolition of the West Coast Eagles, with his six goals ensuring the Power remain undefeated in 2020. West Coast fought hard to get within 11 points of Port Adelaide in the third quarter, but came undone after a Will Schofield headbutt saw the veteran reported as they continued their win-less campaign.
St Kilda vs. Richmond, Marvel Stadium, 4.35pm (AEST)
Team news: After a poor performance against the Hawks last week, the Tigers will be thankful for the return of Dustin Martin. The superstar is joined by Kamdyn McIntosh, Liam Baker and Toby Nankervis as the new faces this week, while Josh Battle is the only change to the Saints squad in place of Nick Hind.
Prediction: The Tigers really need to bounce back after a disappointing performance against the Hawks last Thursday night. A nine-day break, combined with the return of superstar Dustin Martin should be enough to see them snag the four points. Still, don't sleep on the Saints who are yet another of 2020's improvers. Tigers by 33 points.
Score: St Kilda 15. 3. (93) def. Richmond 10. 7. (67)
Verdict: The problems have gone from bad to worse for Richmond who remain winless after the AFL's resumption. The Tigers were simply outclassed by the Saints on Saturday afternoon, the underdogs leading at every change as they went on to record a 26-point victory. Dan Butler kicked three goals for the Saints while Jack Billings had a game-high 25 disposals. Dustin Martin, meanwhile, had 18 touches on his return from injury, though the champion midfielder didn't turn out to be the game-changer many thought he might be.
Essendon vs. Carlton, MCG, 7.40pm (AEST)
Team news: It's been a difficult week for the Bombers and the news doesn't get any better with the omission of Dyson Heppell, but Orazio Fantasia is back in action alongside Martin Gleeson, while Matt Geulfi is the other player to drop out. Carlton, meanwhile, have handed a debut to Sam Philp with Harry McKay out injured.
Prediction: The traditional Saturday night rivalry will go ahead and it could be an absolute belter. The Blues are coming off a gallant win in Geelong, while the Bombers showed great signs before the late cancellation of last week's game. It will be interesting to see how the Dons start after essentially having a bye last week. Dons by seven points.
Score: Carlton 7. 10. (52) def. Essendon 8. 3. (51)
Verdict: The Blues made it back-to-back wins with a thrilling one-point victory over Essendon at the MCG, rounding out a tough week for the Bombers in the process. The Dons held a 12-point lead early in the final quarter, only to see the Blues rally to level the scores and then go on and take the victory by the barest of margins. Levi Casbault and Sam Docherty were the stars of Carlton's win, the duo contributing three goals and 32 disposals respectively.
Gold Coast vs. Fremantle, Metricon Stadium, 7.40pm (AEST)
Team news: There are no changes to the Gold Coast outfit that thrashed the Crows last week, while Fremantle have handed a debut to Caleb Serong. The former Vic Country captain gets a start alongside Stephen Hill while Brennan Cox and Sam Sturt both drop out through injury.
Prediction: The AFL's new darlings will be looking for three straight wins when they take on the Dockers this Saturday night. Young gun Matt Rowell also looking for a third straight best on ground performance. The Dockers have shown some signs of improvement but I can't see them getting up at Metricon Stadium. Suns by 11 points.
Score: Gold Coast 10. 4. (64) def. Fremantle 8. 3. (51)
Verdict: What did the Suns do over the COVID-19 break? Whatever it was it's working, as the Queenslanders are 3-0 since the competition's resumption. Saturday night's victory wasn't without incident, though, as a virtual all-in brawl brought the two sides together and will likely result in a series of fines. Fremantle remain winless in 2020 as a result, and the Dockers have further concerns with superstar Nat Fyfe limping off late in the third term.
Sunday, June 28
Brisbane vs. Adelaide, Gabba, 3:35pm (AEST)
Team news: Connor Ballenden has earned an AFL debut for the Lions as one of four changes alongside Alex Witherden, Dayne Zorko and Mitchell Hinge. There are also a raft of changes for the Crows, including Shane McAdam, who wins his first start with Billy Frampton, Bryce Gibbs, Elliott Himmelberg, Kyle Hartigan and Myles Poholke also getting the nod at the selection table.
Prediction: The Crows might just be the league's worst team this season, and the Lions are playing at home for the third straight week. Unfortunately for Adelaide fans, this could get ugly unless thing improve rapidly. Lions by 32 points.
Verdict: Adelaide really needed a win here, but it was never going to be easy against an in-form Lions side. They had a horror first half before Taylor Walker dragged the Crows to within 18 points of the lead, but Brisbane opened the fourth quarter too strongly - including an incredible mark from Charlie Cameron. It was a very strong win for the Lions, but they could have easily won by more.
Score: Brisbane 10.23 (83) def. Adelaide 7.4 (46)
Melbourne vs. Geelong, MCG, 3:35pm (AEST)
Team news: The changes have come thick and fast for this one at HQ on Sunday afternoon. For the Demons, Aaron vandenBerg, Jay Lockhart, Kysaiah Pickett, Michael Hibberd and Mitch Hannan have been selected; Harley Bennell the only player to be omitted. Geelong, meanwhile, will be without both Harru Taylor and Rhys Stanley, with Brandan Parfitt, Darcy Fort, Jake Kolodjashnij, James Parsons, Jordan Clark and Lachie Henderson coming into the matchday squad.
Prediction: These teams had odd results on the weekend. The Demons had to play a scratch match as their clash with Essendon was postponed, while the Cats had a rare slip up at home against the Blues. You can just imagine the mood in Chris Scott's team meetings this week. Expect them to bounce back. Cats by 18 points.
Score: Geelong 7. 5. (47) def. Melbourne 6. 8. (44)
Verdict: Geelong survived some nervy moments late to bounce back from last week's loss to the Blues with a three-point victory on Sunday afternoon. The Demons had a set shot at goal inside the final minute, but it went through for a behind and the Cats held on from there. The Cats led for all but a few minutes of the match as the Demons grabbed the ascendancy right before halftime; stung by that late change, Geelong came out of sheds the better in the third term to set up their triumph.
Hawthorn vs. North Melbourne, Marvel Stadium, 6:05pm (AEST)
Team news: Harry Jones will make his debut for the Hawks with Harry Jones, Harry Morrison, Mitchell Lewis and Paul Puopolo all listed. There are also five new faces for the Kangaroos who welcome Ben Cunnington, Jack Mahony, Marley Williams, Tom Campbell and Tristan Xerri included; Mahony and Xerri to play their first games for the club.
Prediction: The Hawks were excellent in their win over Richmond last week, while the Roos will rue a missed opportunity against the Swans. Are North the real deal some said after their hot start to 2020? This is a big test, and at Marvel, they might narrowly win. North by two points.
Score: Hawthorn 8. 10. (58) def. North Melbourne 8. 6. (54)
Verdict: Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson looked far from impressed at fulltime. And he had every right to be upset after his side almost blew a 31-point final quarter lead against the Kangaroos. Having controlled the match since the second quarter the Hawks looked set to cruise to a second straight win, but North suddenly caught fire late in the final quarter and even had a snap shot to win the match with 25 seconds left to play. But it sailed wide and Hawthorn survived; Chad Wingard kicking three majors for the victors.
