Swans star Isaac Heeney will miss the remainder of 2020 after scans revealed a dislocated ankle and ruptured medial ligament.
Heeney sustained the injury in Sunday's clash against reigning premier Richmond when Tigers youngster Jack Graham slung him to the ground in a tackle. Heeney slowly got to his feet, before coming off the ground and failing to take any further part in the game.
The injury is a bitter blow for the versatile Swan who had been enjoying a strong season.
Sydney co-captain Josh Kennedy is also set to spend some time on the sidelines after rupturing the medial ligament in his knee against the Tigers. He will be put into a knee brace and will likely miss six weeks of action.
