Two Richmond AFL players are in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
It was confirmed on Saturday that premiership midfielder Dion Prestia and key defender Noah Balter contracted the virus, with the pair's close contacts currently being tested.
After Friday's easing of restrictions and isolation rules by the Victorian Government, people who test positive for the virus must isolate for 10 days.
Close contacts must also isolate, but only until they produce a negative test.
The news is unlikely to interrupt the club's preseason preparations, with Richmond's first to four year players still due at Punt Road on Monday.
Both Prestia and Balta had injury-ravaged seasons in 2021 with the Tigers missing finals for the first time since their breakthrough premiership in 2017.
Hawthorn's Finn Maginness was the league's first confirmed coronavirus case a few weeks ago, while there have also been players out of Richmond's, the Western Bulldogs' and Carlton's women's programs to return a positive test.
