86 hopefuls make final cut for PBA Season 46 rookie draft

The PBA on Monday released its final list of eligible players for the upcoming Season 46 Draft on Mar. 14.

A total of 86 aspiring pros made the cut, while 11 didn't.

Among those who failed to make the final list were seven Fil-foreigners who were not able to submit their documents on time, namely Jason Brickman, Jeremiah Gray, and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser of Alab Pilipinas; Taylor Statham, Tyrus Hill, John Paul Gulfo, and Christopher Cancio.

Brickman, Gray and Statham were all projected to be first-rounders.

Every Fil-foreign applicant needed to submit a Certificate of Recognition as a Filipino Citizen from the Bureau of Immigration and the Affirmation as a Filipino Citizen from the Department of Justice.

Jerrick Ahanmisi and Andre Paras, who were both born in the United States, were able to submit on time, and were both included in the final list.

On the other hand, Fil-Ams John Paul Zarco, Ezra Ocampo, and JJ Española pulled out, along with Neilowen De Jesus of the University of Batangas.

The list of 86 players includes four who will join the special Gilas draft: Jaydee Tungcab, Jordan Heading, Tzaddy Rangel and William Navarro.

The Season 46 Draft will be broadcast live on Sunday at 4 p.m. on TV5 and One Sports.
