TAB Betting Blog: Money to be made on Dockers, Swans and Orazio

Here are TAB.com.au's best betting options for the upcoming round of AFL.

Best bets

Head to head: Fremantle to win at $2.10

Despite being at TAB odds of $2.10, Fremantle are favoured by punters to beat Melbourne, with 77 percent of the money wagered on the Dockers to win Saturday's clash at the MCG.

Freo possess recent bragging rights over the Dees, having won eight of the past 10 clashes between them, but Melbourne thumped Ross Lyon's team by 54 points last year in Round 16.

The Demons are a shell of the 2018 team that eventually lost to eventual premiers West Coast in a preliminary final so the Dockers, currently sixth on the ladder and with finals on the horizon, should be too strong for the Dees.

Head to head: Sydney to defeat Hawthorn at $1.45

One TAB punter is full of confidence ahead of Sydney's clash with Hawthorn at the SCG on Friday night, placing $20,000 on the Swans to get the better of the Hawks at home.

For a team that looked completely out of sorts at the start of the AFL season, Sydney have turned a corner the past few weeks with close losses to TAB premiership favourites Collingwood and Geelong while also scoring an emphatic win over the Eagles two rounds ago.

A refreshed and rejuvenated Swans after the mid-season bye might be too much for a travelling Hawthorn team.

Value bets

Special: Orazio Fantasia to kick a goal in each half $3.50

Battered and brusied (thanks to Ben Stratton), Bombers forward Fantasia hasn't had much to smile about this season due to his team's struggles to put together consistent footy.

But having just played his 50th game of senior footy and Essendon scoring back-to-back wins, could the Bombers be finding form?

Averaging two goals a game this season, TAB is offering odds of $3.50 for Fantasia to score a goal in each half.

Several TAB punters have jumped on this special, which could be a great inclusion in a weekend multi-bet.

Total Points Over/Under: Over 161.5 points at $1.87 (Melbourne vs. Fremantle)

Fremantle are on the rise, having won three in a row. While not the highest-scoring team, their clashes with Melbourne are generally high scoring affairs and Saturday is a chance to register a big score.

Of their past five encounters between these two sides, the average is 166 points between them.

TAB's Total Points Over/Under is set at 161.5 points. If head-to-head history serves as a good indicator, expect the score to go over.

With no rain forecast, the weather won't be a hinderance for either team.

Multi bets

Tri Bet: Either team to win by 29 or less at $1.68 (Essendon vs. West Coast)
Line: St Kilda +5.5 at $1.90
Margin: Collingwood to win by 1-39 points at $2.05
Margin: Geelong to win by 1-39 points at $2.05

Multi = $13.41
