Larry Fitzgerald's base salary is guaranteed on Friday

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals may want -- and possibly get -- an answer from Larry Fitzgerald on his playing future this week.

The 34-year-old wide receiver's $11 million base salary will be fully guaranteed on Friday, the fifth day of the 2018 league year waiver period, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

He'll also be eligible for a $1 million incentive if he reaches 15,934 receiving yards, which would tie him for second on the NFL's all-time receiving yards list.

Fitzgerald said Sunday at the Super Bowl that he'll decide whether he'll play in 2018 or retire in "a week or two."

The 2018 waiver system began Monday, making the day after the Super Bowl the official start of roster transitions across the league.

Only two teams have made moves through the first two days. Neither were the Cardinals. But it's still early, and it's likely a change gonna come, as Sam Cooke once put it. The new league year begins March 14 and within a week of that, the Cardinals will be forced to make a slew of roster decisions one way or the other.

With the help of ESPN Stats & Information and Spotrac.com, here's a look at a few players who have bonuses coming up that could, potentially, lead to the Cardinals deciding on their future with the organization sooner rather than later:

Adrian Peterson: The 32-year-old running back is due a $750,000 roster bonus on the third day of the league year. He's also scheduled to earn additional roster bonuses of $78,125 per game he's on the 53-man roster and $25,000 per game he's on the 46-man active roster for a maximum of $1.65 million in roster bonuses. He'll also be eligible for up to $2.75 million in not-likely-to-be-earned bonuses.

Tyrann Mathieu: The sixth-year safety is due $18.75 million in guaranteed money on March 14, comprising his $5.75 million 2018 salary, $5 million roster bonus and $8 million of his 2019 salary.

Josh Mauro: The defensive lineman is due a $1.5 million roster bonus on March 16.

Antoine Bethea: The 33-year-old safety is due a $1 million roster bonus on the fifth day of the league year. He's also eligible for a $15,625 bonus per game he's on the 46-man active roster. Bethea is also eligible for up to $750,000 in not-likely-to-be-earned bonuses for interceptions and playing time.

Phil Dawson: The 43-year-old kicker is due a $500,000 roster bonus on the fifth day of the league year and is eligible for a $100,000 not-likely-to-be-earned Pro Bowl bonus.

Andy Lee: The 35-year-old punter is due a $1 million roster bonus on the second day of the league year.

Jermaine Gresham: The tight end will be due $1.25 million on the third day of the league year.
