ST. LOUIS -- At least Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester has a sense of humor when it comes to his issues throwing to first base. Sunday's two-hop toss to Anthony Rizzo barely beat Colorado Rockies outfielder Brandon Barnes to first base, creating yet another viral moment for Lester in the field.
On Monday, he took to Twitter to acknowledge the throw.
Tough one yesterday but felt good out there. Bummed I didn't get a web gem for my throw to first, @BBTN what gives? #LetsGo #NVRQT

Lester's fielding and throwing problems have been well documented over the last 12 months, though he's been willing to engage in discussion about the problem more this year than last year. Fortunately, another point of contention for him -- his hitting -- has gotten better. He doubled Sunday, the first extra-base hit of his career.
