Bengals' A.J. Green works on rehab field during Wednesday's practice

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green didn’t practice with the team on Wednesday afternoon, but was doing limited work on the adjacent rehab field during the portion of practice open to the media.

Green arrived about 20 minutes into practice in sweats and appeared to do some hamstring related exercises. It’s the first work he’s been seen doing in practice since he was carted off two plays into the Bengals' game against the Bills two weeks ago.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that the Green’s outlook to play this week was “partly cloudy,” but has said more than once that he thinks Green will return before the season is over. That would not change if the Bengals are eliminated from the playoffs.

Green has not spoken to the media since he was injured.

Also not practicing: safety Derron Smith (thigh), tackle Andrew Whitworth (not injury related) and quarterback AJ McCarron (neck -- not injury related).

Limited in practice: Guard Clint Boling (shoulder), defensive end Carlos Dunlap (thigh), defensive Wallace Gilberry (calf), long-snapper Clark Harris (groin), H-back Ryan Hewitt (foot), tight end Tyler Kroft (concussion), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (knee), tight end C.J. Uzomah (calf) and safety Shawn Williams (hamstring).
