Here are the moves the Cleveland Browns should consider when free agency opens at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, March 14:

Find a cornerback, or two: The Browns need a cover guy to replace Joe Haden, someone who can turn the ball over. Trumaine Johnson might cost $11 million-$13 million per season, but if the Browns are interested in upgrading a position of need, they have to spend some of their cap money. They also should consider Bashaud Breeland of the Redskins. Signing a corner (or two) would allow the Browns to play newly acquired Damarious Randall at safety, which as it turns out is their goal. It's a passing league. Catching the ball and scoring touchdowns and stopping the other team from catching the ball and scoring touchdowns are vital.

Bring back Terrelle Pryor: Pryor might not be a good fit on some teams, but with the Browns he is. Pairing him with Gordon would give Cleveland two tall receivers and allow Corey Coleman to be used a little more creatively (yes, even perhaps in the slot). Pyror had a tough season in Washington in 2017 and has to show he is healthy -- he missed time with a foot injury -- so he will not command a top-dollar contract. Bringing him back to the team with which he had his breakout season in 2016 makes sense.

Don't stop there at receiver: The addition of Jarvis Landry via trade helps. Landry is talented player who averaged 100 catches during his first four seasons in Miami. More help is needed. Adding Pryor would be a start, but the Browns receivers scored just seven touchdowns last season. Kenny Britt tied for the team lead. It's a passing era.

Let the veteran quarterback market sort itself out, then find another experienced passer: The trade for Tyrod Taylor puts in pencil the team's goal to have Taylor hold the position for at least a year while a young player learns, but the Browns should not stop there. The trade of DeShone Kizer to Green Bay means the team can have Taylor, a drafted player (Sam Darnold, Josh Allen?) and perhaps even a lower-priced veteran to man the position. It's a quarterback driven league; the Browns can show that by adding a lower-priced veteran to go with Taylor.
