Myles Jack becomes fourth Jaguars draft pick to sign a contract

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed second-round draft pick Myles Jack, the team announced on Friday.

Jack’s four-year deal is worth $6.33 million and includes a $2.8 million signing bonus. The contract numbers are predetermined by a slotting system established in the collective bargaining agreement.

The Jaguars gave up their fifth-round pick to move up two spots in the second round and select Jack with the 36th overall pick. He was considered one of the best defensive players in the draft but slid into the second round because of concerns over his surgically-repaired right knee.

Jack participated in the Jaguars’ rookie orientation but is unable to be with the team until June. UCLA is on the quarter system and NFL rules prohibit players from joining NFL teams until the academic year ends.

Jack is the fourth Jaguars draft pick to sign, joining sixth-round picks Brandon Allen and Tyrone Holmes and seventh-round pick Jonathan Woodard.
