KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tight end looked to be a position of need for the Kansas City Chiefs after they trimmed their roster to 53 players. They were left with Travis Kelce, rookie James O'Shaughnessy and Demetrius Harris, who only recently returned to practice because of a broken foot.

The Chiefs found another tight end on waivers Sunday: Brian Parker, who had been released by the San Diego Chargers. Parker joined the Chargers as an undrafted free agent from the University of Albany.

Parker caught one pass during the preseason for 14 yards.

Parker gives the Chiefs a third option at tight end at least until they feel Harris is back to 100 percent. The Chiefs were excellent offensively when they were able to utilize their three-tight-end formations last season.

To clear roster room for Parker, the Chiefs released backup linebacker Dezman Moses.
