MLB Rumor Central: D-backs looking for help in center?

Although they want to give their in-house options a chance to hold the job down, the Arizona Diamondbacks haven't ruled out acquiring a center fielder from outside the organization following A.J. Pollock's potentially season-ending elbow injury, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Chris Owings played center for the D-backs in their Opening Day loss to the Colorado Rockies and went 1-for-5. Socrates Brito also figures to get reps at the position, as the team tries to figure out the best way to move forward without their All-Star center fielder.

Michael Bourn and Will Venable are among the outside options Arizona will consider if it decides to go that route, Morosi reports in a separate tweet. Bourn is a free agent after being released by the Cleveland Indians, while Venable is in limbo after not making Philadelphia Phillies' Opening Day roster.

With the D-backs making a series of win-now moves this offseason, don't be surprised if they pull the trigger quick on a player they think will make them better this season.
