The Colorado Rockies are awaiting word on the status of left fielder Gerardo Parra, who sprained his left ankle in a scary collision with shortstop Trevor Story in Tuesday’s 13-10 win against the New York Yankees.

Manager Walt Weiss said Parra, who is hitting .263 and is second in the National League with 20 doubles, will be evaluated Wednesday.

Ryan Raburn replaced Parra in the fourth inning and is a candidate for some extra playing time if Parra lands on the disabled list.

MLB.com’s Thomas Harding reports outfielder Brandon Barnes, who was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on April 29, was pulled from Albuquerque's game Tuesday night shortly after Parra was injured. Barnes is likely headed to Denver if Parra is sidelined.
